5 Costly Mistakes Home Buyers Make
Mistake #1- Not knowing what they can afford before making an offer.
The best way to avoid this is to get pre-approved for a mortgage so you know exactly how much you can afford. And I can help you with that as I am also a Mortgage Agent.
Mistake #2- Not knowing who the agent represents.
Unless an agent is working as your Buyer Representative, they represent the seller. Many people don't realize this.
Mistake #3- Choosing the wrong mortgage.
A bad mortgage product can cost you thousands in taxes and interest. A good Mortgage Agent will go over the details based on your real estate needs, such as, portability if you move, variable rate vs fixed rates and so on. You want a Mortgage Agent who is up to snuff when it comes to mortgages and someone who is detail oriented. And, once again, I can help you with that as I am a Mortgage Agent as well. You are in very good hands with me on both spectrums!
Mistake #4- Not finding problems with the home before buying it.
You should always have a professional inspector look at the home before buying it, otherwise you could be looking at huge repair costs later on. It also gives you the peace of mind as there is a lot of money on the table and you’ve worked very hard for it.
Mistake #5- Not understanding how their credit can impact their ability to purchase or refinance a home.
I as your Mortgage Agent, can help you go over and prepare your mortgage portfolio before you purchase a home.
